Yom Kippur, Redsox, Patriots. Boobies

Yom Kippur is probably the most important holiday of the Jewish year. Many Jews who do not observe any other Jewish custom will refrain from work, fast and/or attend synagogue services on this day. Yom Kippur occurs on the 10th day of Tishri. The holiday is instituted at Leviticus 23:26 et seq.

The name “Yom Kippur” means “Day of Atonement,” and that pretty much explains what the holiday is. It is a day set aside to “afflict the soul,” to atone for the sins of the past year. In Days of Awe, I mentioned the “books” in which G-d inscribes all of our names. On Yom Kippur, the judgment entered in these books is sealed. This day is, essentially, your last appeal, your last chance to change the judgment, to demonstrate your repentance and make amends.

Let me start By saying I am Sorry for any and All wrong doings for the past year.

Technically I should not be posting But since I am at work instead of Temple I figured What the Heck.

Today is Yom Kippur Our day of Atonement, Just like Catholics have lent we have Yom Kippur but instead of 40 days ours is just 1. We are not supposed to do much of anything today. No eating, No Working, So far I am 0-2.

Moving on

The Redsox Finally won a Game and To make is Twice as nice the Yankees lost for a change. I still am hoping the redsox will pull it together and hold off the Damm Yankees for the division. Lets hope Manny Ramierez decides to play before the playoffs.

Thank God that Tape Gate is now Over. The Patriots are 2-0 and Looking Mighty Fine.

Let me just say That ladainian tomlinson is a Bitch for someone who talks as much as he does He seems to not show up when it counts. He had the Balls to talk shit the week before a big game and then He got stuffed and what does he say after?? Nothing but excuses.

The Patriots are playing the Buffalo Bills who might just be one of the worst teams in the NFL. The spead is 17 and I still like the Patriots.
I do think that they might just go Run Heavy this week so that might keep the score down. But I will give the 17 and Pray.

On 2nd thoughts what i Did choose to do was tease the Patriots and the Colts. making the lines much better.

Baloney on Medical Marijuana

Baloney on Medical Marijuana

Albany, NY -- There's a trick politicians use when they want to
appear to be in favor of some issue that has strong public support.
They craft legislation that suggests support but include a provision
they know the other political party won't go for.

Senate Republicans are doing just that with medical marijuana. The
Assembly approved a bill in June that allows people who are certified
as seriously or terminally ill to grow and possess small amounts of
marijuana, if recommended by a doctor. Nancy Calhoun of Blooming Grove
and Tom Kirwan of Newburgh properly voted for the bill.

The drug helps ease the chronic pain and nausea that accompany many serious illnesses.

Senate Republicans, including John Bonacic and Thomas Morahan, say
they, too, support the idea but — and here's the poison pill — only if
the system is controlled by doctors and the state. No "blanket
giveaways," as Bonacic put it. The bill would have the state control
distribution and, in effect, require a prescription from doctors. The
problem is that the federal government labels marijuana as a Schedule I
controlled substance, meaning it can't be prescribed.

And the U.S. Justice Department under the Bush administration has been
aggressive in going after doctors or government workers in states that
have laws allowing what the Republican here suggest. This tends to make
doctors wary of prescribing the drug.

This is not a war-on-drugs issue. Morahan, Bonacic and their GOP
colleagues should trust the state's most seriously ill residents not to
start dealing drugs from their death beds.

Morley Safer Reports On Proposition 215

Morley Safer Reports On Proposition 215

Source: CBS News

(CBS) -- The idea was a noble one: pass a law to make marijuana
legal for cancer and AIDS sufferers whose pain and nausea the drug is
known to relieve. But the law the Rev. Scott Imler thought would one
day put the drug in pharmacies has instead created "pot dealers in
storefronts" who sell to anyone with doctors' notes that are fairly
easy to obtain.

60 Minutes correspondent Morley Safer speaks to Imler and others for a
report on medical marijuana, this Sunday, Sept. 23, at 7 p.m. ET/PT.

Imler admits the noble idea turned out to be a pipe dream. "I think
there's a lot of [people just buying the drug to get high]," he tells
Safer. "A lot of what we have now is basically pot dealers in
storefronts."

Imler lives in California, one of 12 states to pass a medical marijuana
bill. To pass California's Proposition 215, Imler says many more types
of patients besides cancer and AIDS sufferers had to be included. "They
all have their lobbies. The kidney patient and the heart patient," says
Imler. That led to a blanket law covering anyone with pain, setting the
stage for the easy-to-get doctor's notes and hundreds of storefront
marijuana "clubs." "It's just ridiculous the amount of money going
through these cannabis clubs," Imler tells Safer.

Don Duncan, an owner of three medical marijuana clubs in California,
says abuse is to be expected as it occurs with prescription drugs as
well.

"There's bound to be abuse in the system," says Duncan. "What we
really need right now are regulations that address those issues."

The "clubs" are supposed to be comprised of patients who grow marijuana
for the sole reason of distributing it to fellow members, but Imler
says, "Most of these cannabis centers are buying their marijuana off
the black market. They're dumping millions of dollars into the criminal
black market."

This has not escaped the notice of federal officials, for whom the drug
is still illegal under federal law. One of Duncan's clubs was raided by
the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency. Shutting down the clubs solves one
problem, but could affect the quality of life for people like William
Leahy, who suffers from vascular degeneration. "I have a deformity
here," he says, pointing to his hip, "and a great deal of pain and
discomfort.

[The clubs] help me with that," says Leahy.

Imler says it's time for the federal government to step up for people
like Leahy. "We only saw the local cannabis programs as a stopgap
measure on the way to the federal government rescheduling it and making
[marijuana] available in the pharmacy like regular medicines are.

Until that happens, we're going to have what we have now, which is chaos."

Marijuana Dealers Offer Schwarzenegger One Billion Dollars

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: August 6, 2007
Contact: Clifford Schaffer, tel: 661-268-0442, e-mail: info@letuspaytaxes.com
Marijuana Dealers Offer Schwarzenegger One Billion Dollars

August 6 -- A coalition of California marijuana growers and dealers has offered Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger one billion dollars to solve the current state budget crisis. The group, calling itself Let Us Pay Taxes makes the offer through its web site LetUsPayTaxes.com. The offer comes at a time when the California legislature is deadlocked on a new budget and California has stopped issuing checks for vitally needed social services. Legislators are currently arguing over which programs will be cut in order to balance the budget.

“It is ridiculous that California can’t pay its bills,” said spokesman Clifford Schaffer. “It is a tragedy that they will cut badly needed services and programs such as medical care for the elderly and prison drug treatment when the money to fund all these programs and more is there and available. Everyone who is currently waiting for a check from the state should be enraged at this foolishness.”

Regulation and taxation of marijuana could produce six billion dollars in additional tax revenue, according to economic studies linked from their web site LetUsPayTaxes.com. In addition, it could save up to ten billion dollars in enforcement costs. “That is a conservative estimate,” said Schaffer. “By other estimates, the revenues could be five times that. The economists are with us all the way on this one. Marijuana prohibition is an economic disaster.”

“Let’s face reality,” Schaffer says. “Marijuana legalization is inevitable. The situation is already beyond control in California. The state and local authorities have offered safe harbor for medical marijuana use and the Federal Government simply doesn’t have the resources for effective control.” More importantly, says Schaffer, the operators of the medical marijuana clubs are no longer afraid of the Federal Government. “If you talk to them, you will find that they know they are going to win this battle.
They know that the DEA is vastly outnumbered and can’t begin to prosecute all of them. The few that are prosecuted are accepting their fate as martyrs because they know that what they are doing is right. They are willing to sacrifice themselves to make the point that the Federal Government has just gone too far in interfering with very personal and private decisions. There is no way the DEA is going to win this battle. At this point, it is all over but the counting of the money – and the victims of the DEA.”

Schaffer went on to say that the national market for marijuana has been estimated from a low of ten billion dollars per year to more than fifty billion dollars per year. “The first states to regulate and tax marijuana will receive an economic bonanza bigger than the original California Gold Rush,” says Schaffer. “Some states will get rich like the Saudis.” Schaffer predicts that it will not take long for some local areas to wake up to the economic possibilities. “We are talking potentially big bucks here,” he said. “The Canadians are already starting to take note of a cannabis-fueled economic boom in some areas. Politicians can’t resist fresh cash, especially when it is coming to their local community. There will be big winners and losers here. The winners will be the ones who recognize the foregone conclusion first.”

The group also cites foreign terrorism as a reason to regulate and tax marijuana. “Drug Czar John Walters is being dishonest when he says that marijuana money goes to criminals and terrorists. The only reason any of that money goes to criminals or terrorists is because of the prohibition that Walters supports,” said Schaffer. “Marijuana prohibition makes criminals rich just like alcohol prohibition did. The criminals are now so rich and powerful that they can challenge the legitimate governments of their own countries. There is no reason to send billions of dollars per year to foreign criminal gangs when patriotic Americans make the best products in the world. There is no reason to suffer such a huge foreign trade deficit when that money could be providing jobs and funding badly needed services right here in the USA.”

Let Us Pay Taxes calls upon all US citizens to sign their petition at their web site http://LetUsPayTaxes.com and press the issue with their lawmakers. “Take the money, please,” said Schaffer. “These people want to contribute. Now it is up to our politicians to tell us why they want to send those billions to foreign criminal gangs rather than to their own voters.”

OK now I am starting to sweat. The Redsox Lost a game they should have won last night
and the Yankess won making the Redsox Lead over the Yankees just 2 1/2 games.

This is not the time for them to Blow leads in the 9th inning. Jezus Fucking Christ DO NOT PUT ERIC GAGSME IN THE GAME.

Still we are up 2 1/2 but tonight Ortiz is also out so should be fun.

Patriots looked Fantastic on sunday didn't they?
I am tired of this tape thing. I think that Eric Magini did alot of harm to his Career after the Jets.
than he could have ever Imagined.

The Patriots are Primed and ready and If the Spread is less than 14 I would take em over the bills this week.

Catch you all later.
